Community Groups
One of the best ways to get connected at Crossroads is to join a Community Group. Community Groups are small gatherings where people (either 6 to 8 same-gender individuals or 5 to 6 married couples) meet to learn about God, pray, eat, and do life together.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are Communtiy Groups? Why should I join one?
Community Groups are a great way for you to share the highs and lows of life with a close group of friends. These groups are the place to be encouraged, equipped, and challenged to become a fully devoted follower of Jesus. If you want to grow in your relationship with Jesus, you must have intentional friendships with people who have the same goal.
When and where do Community Groups meet?
The good news is that every Community Group is different. We can help you find a group based on the time they meet and what fits best with your schedule or what area of town they meet in. Most groups meet in homes, but you also might find Community Groups gathering at local coffee shops, restaurants, or other places in town.
Who will be in my Community Group?
At Crossroads Church, we have 2 types of Community Groups: Married Couples Community Groups and Women's/Men's Community Groups. If you are married and want to join a group with your spouse, you will join a Married Couples Community Group with other couples from a similar stage in life. If you are not married or are married but want to join a Community Group with only people of the same gender, then you will join either a Women's Community Group or a Men's Community Group. We work hard to help each person find the Community Group that is just the right fit.
What will we talk about?
Again, every Community Group is different. Community Groups may discuss the current sermon series, a relevant book, or an outside study that everyone has decided on. No matter what curriculum your Community Group uses, you are guaranteed the opportunity to meet with friends regularly to hang out and talk about life together.
How long does a Community Group last?
Each Community Group creates and agrees to their own covenant once they start meeting. As a group, you may decide to meet for 12 months, 24 months, or some other period of time. One of the great advantages of Community Groups is their flexibility. Your group can make the decision to take breaks for holidays or summer months, or you can keep up your regular meeting time all year. The important thing is that all group members decide on the covenant and stick to it.
